Busy Builders

Let's build something together! Playing with LEGO and other building blocks can help develop your child's cognitive learning and social skills! Every Friday morning we will set out a collection of kid-friendly building blocks for an engaging and educational drop-in playtime. You bring your creativity, we'll provide the rest!

This program is for children birth-5, with a caregiver. Drop-in anytime!

Homeschool Nature Club: Ocean STEAM

Come in from the cold and join us for a look at what’s going on “under the sea”. This STEAM program will take a look at the different zones of the ocean and the creatures who inhabit them. We will try classifying shells, experimenting with oil spill clean-up, and examining how tides work. We will also play a little, making our own sand slime and kinetic sand.

Registration is not required, but space is limited. This program is intended for children in grades 3-8.

Read, Build, Play

Read, Build, Play is an interactive story time that encourages development of early literacy in preschoolers. The program is designed for children ages 2-5, but all ages are welcome. Read, Build, Play is approximately 45 minutes long and includes stories, music, activities, and play time with a variety of blocks including Duplo Legos - all related to a creative theme. Advance registration is not required.

Preschoolers @ Post - KidCraft

Educate and entertain your little learner, aged 3-5, at the Post Road Library. Join us on Fridays for a variety of preschool play each week. Throughout the month we will offer a multicultural class, center-based play, science and STEM for the preschool set and a craft day, perfect for little fingers and growing imaginations! Program designed for ages 3-5 only. No registration required.

Bring your best Lego build ideas to our Masterminds Lego® Lounge each Friday this fall. We will offer creative challenges for your child to tackle using 100 pounds of traditional Lego® blocks, Duplo® blocks and giant building bricks! No registration required. A Night Among the Stars - An Astronomy Event for Teens

Do you love stargazing? Wear your winter pajamas and head to the library for a night that’s all about astronomy! Meet a Georgia Tech astronomer, learn more about what you can see right now in the sky over Georgia and enjoy the night sky through his professional telescope. Watch the Pixar short “La Luna,” make a nebula jar to take home and more! For middle and high school students only. No registration required.
