Fiber Arts and Friends

Fiber arts includes knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlepoint, and any other activity that uses fiber or fabric. Bring your current project or simply grab your needles, yarn, hook, spinning wheel, and patterns to join in the fiber arts fun. This program is for adults only.

Books & Babies for Pre-walkers

Develop baby's pre-literacy skills as well as physical, social, and mental development. This storytime introduces a love for books, song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. Improve motor, sensory and social skills during free play time, which also provides an opportunity for both babies and parents to socialize. Books & Babies is also about parents as you bond and learn with baby as well as meet other parents in the community. This program is for babies up to 18 months old, with a parent or caregiver, and lasts 20-30 minutes. No registration required.

Crafter's Corner

Join us every third Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. for our adult craft program. This month we will be making coasters out of upcycled t-shirts!

Please bring a t-shirt to cut up for this program.

Bring a friend and enjoy a relaxing hour of creativity in this adult crafting program. Advance registration is not required.

TAB - Teen Advisory Board with Special VolunTEEN Panel Discussion at the Post Road Library

Teens are invited to join us at the library as we discuss ideas to plan and promote teen programs and more and additional volunteer opportunities at the library. Teens will earn volunteer credit for attending meetings. All interested teens are welcome to attend. No registration required. At this TAB meeting we will also host the first of our two Summer VolunTEEN Info Sessions and Panel Discussions. If you are interested in being a summer volunteer at the library, it is required that you attend a panel discussions before you apply this spring. There will be two hosted at each branch. Our final panel discussion will be March 3rd at 2:00.

Youth Leadership Workshop With the Toastmasters

The ToastMasters organization is offering an eight week workshop for middle and high school students on leadership and public speaking. Participants will practice speaking and listening skills in a positive environment and receive coaching from experienced speakers. By the end of the eight week workshop, teens will be able to speak to groups or individuals with confidence and poise. The workshop will meet each Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 for eight weeks, January 10 to February 28, 2018. Please register for this January 10 event in order to reserve your place for the full eight week program.

Are you interested in applying to be a Summer VolunTEEN at the library? Join us in a panel discussion with previous year's VolunTEENs. Bring your questions, learn about the Summer VolunTEEN program, and hear from seasoned VolunTEENs.
Please note: In order to apply for the Summer VolunTEEN program, it is mandatory that you attend one of the VolunTEEN Panel Discussions before you apply for the Summer VolunTEEN program.
This program will NOT be held at Sharon Forks, but will be at the Sexton Hall Enrichment Center, 2115 Chloe Rd, Cumming, GA 30041.
