Books & Babies for Walkers

Develop baby's pre-literacy skills as well as physical, social, and mental development. This storytime introduces a love for books, song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. Improve motor, sensory and social skills during free play time, which also provides an opportunity for both babies and parents to socialize. Books & Babies is also about parents as you bond and learn with baby as well as meet other parents in the community.
This program is for babies up to 24 months old, with a parent or caregiver, and lasts 20-30 minutes.
No registration required.

Lego Challenge: Fairy Tale Edition

Can you build a tower for Rapunzel? A new bed for Goldilocks? Or a bridge for the Billy Goats Gruff to cross? Come join us for a Fairy Tale Lego Challenge and test out your Lego building and design skills!

The Jabberwock's Poetry Slam

Callooh! Callay! It's time to celebrate poetry during this one of a kind Lewis Carroll inspired poetry slam! We'll be making up words, playing games, and learning about the poetry that's all around us every day: in music, on the TV, in our favorite books, and you can even find poetry in the things our parents & friends say! When we're done, we'll record our masterpieces and post them online to share.

This program is designed for children of writing age (7-13) and their guardians. Registration is not required but space is limited. Please arrive early to secure your place.

Parents please note: A completed media release form is necessary in order to have your child's poem recorded and posted on the Forsyth County Public Library's blog.

Family Fun Night: Fairy Tale STEAM

Why should kids have all the fun? Parents grab the kids and join us monthly for STEAM challenges, games, puzzles and more!
This month is all about fairy tales! Families will compete in a fairy tale trivia game and then be encouraged to work together on several fairy tale related STEAM challenges.
This program is for families with children grades K-5. Space in this program is limited. Arrive early to secure your spot. Lines will form 30 minutes prior to the program.

Toastmasters Speechcraft Workshop

Speechcraft is a workshop designed to help you develop communication and leadership skills to improve your professional growth. This eight-session program will help you gain confidence in communication styles including writing and delivering speeches, impromptu speaking, the use of audiovisual aids and body language and effective listening.

This program is intended for adults. Attendance is very limited. Each attendee agrees to attend all eight sessions. Sessions take place at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: 3/8, 3/15, 3/29, 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, and 5/3.

Advance Registration is required. Register for the entire series by signing up for the March 8th class.
