Books & Babies for Walkers

Develop baby's pre-literacy skills as well as physical, social, and mental development. This storytime introduces a love for books, song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. Improve motor, sensory and social skills during free play time, which also provides an opportunity for both babies and parents to socialize. Books & Babies is also about parents as you bond and learn with baby as well as meet other parents in the community.

This program is for babies up to 18 months old, with a parent or caregiver, and lasts 25-30 minutes.

One-Hit Wonders Summer Storytime

These 30 minute programs introduce age-appropriate books and stories and also include music, puppet shows, and movement. Libraries Rock! And so do books and music this summer at the library. Our theme this week is "Let's Go to the Movies" featuring movie soundtracks.

This program is suggested for children ages 2-5, with a caregiver. Registration is not required.

Sahaja Meditation

Meditation is practiced in various forms all over the world. Come experience a deep state of peace and balance while you try meditation. This is a unique method of meditation based on an experience called Self Realization (Kundalini awakening) that can occur within each human being. Through this process an inner transformation takes place by which one becomes moral, united, integrated and balanced. This program is for adults, 18+.

Forsyth County Parks & Rec: Drawing and Painting

Learn to turn drawings into beautiful painted masterpieces. For kids who think they might be interested in drawing and/or painting, join an instructor for Forsyth County Parks and Recreation for this one-time sample class. All materials are provided, and participants should wear "art" clothing as the materials used are non-washable acrylic paints and other media.

This program is for children ages 7-12.

Space in this program is limited. Arrive early to secure your spot. Tickets will be handed out beginning 30 minutes prior to the program.

Paws to Read

For grades kindergarten and up. Dogs are great listeners! Paws to Read gives patrons of all ages an opportunity to read and relax with a certified therapy dog while improving literacy skills. Participants sign up at the door for 15-minute sessions.
