Toastmasters Workshop for Adults

The internationally renowned Toastmasters organization is offering a seven-week workshop for a select group of adults looking to take their presentation and public speaking skills to the next level.

Sponsored by the local Toastmasters Club, participants will practice speaking and listening skills in a positive environment and receive coaching from experienced speakers. By the end of the seven-week workshop, participants will be able to speak to groups or individuals with confidence and poise.

Whether applying for jobs or interviewing for college scholarships, being able to speak in public is a necessary - but often scary! - skill to master. Being a confident public speaker can help you stand out from the crowd. The internationally renowned Toastmasters organization is offering a seven-week workshop for a select group of middle and high school students looking to take their presentation and public speaking skills to the next level.

Sponsored by the local Toastmasters Club, teen participants will practice speaking and listening skills in a positive environment and receive coaching from experienced speakers. By the end of the seven-week workshop, teens will be able to speak to groups or individuals with confidence and poise.

Birds of a Feather: Eastern Bluebirds with Dr. Jill Goldstein Schulze

Dr. Jill Goldstein Schulze, Assistant Dean, College of Science and Mathematics and Associate Professor of Biology at the University of North Georgia’s Oconee Campus will discuss Eastern Bluebirds and Scrub Jays. Areas of interest include family dynamics in cooperatively breeding birds, aggression between step-parents and young in Florida scrub jays, mating systems in birds and what DNA fingerprinting has taught us, and Dr. Schulze’s own research on these fascinating birds.
