Books & Babies for Pre-walkers

Develop baby's pre-literacy skills as well as physical, social, and mental development. This storytime introduces a love for books, song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. Improve motor, sensory and social skills during free play time, which also provides an opportunity for both babies and parents to socialize. Books & Babies is also about parents as you bond and learn with baby as well as meet other parents in the community. This program is for babies up to 18 months old, with a parent or caregiver, and lasts 20-30 minutes. No registration required.

Fiber Arts and Friends

Fiber arts includes knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlepoint, and any other activity that uses fiber or fabric. Bring your current project or simply grab your needles, yarn, hook, spinning wheel, and patterns to join in the fiber arts fun. This program is for adults.

Crafters' Corner

Join us for our adult craft program. This month we will be making a Honeycomb shelf made with popsicle sticks. We will be working with wood stain and/or paint, so be sure to wear appropriate clothing.

Bring a friend and enjoy two relaxing hours of creativity in this crafting program. Advance registration is not required, but space and supplies are limited. This program is intended for adults only.

Youth Leadership Workshop With the Toastmasters

The ToastMasters organization is offering an eight week workshop for middle and high school students on leadership and public speaking. Participants will practice speaking and listening skills in a positive environment and receive coaching from experienced speakers. By the end of the eight week workshop, teens will be able to speak to groups or individuals with confidence and poise. The workshop will meet each Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 for eight weeks, January 9 to February 27, 2019. Please register for this January 9 event in order to reserve your place for the full eight week program.

Chinese Spring Festival

Yunjuan He, Associate Professor of Chinese at UNG, will present Chinese Spring Festival by introducing the origin of the festival, practicing several customs of the festival, such as making couplets and paper cuts to decorate the windows, and tasting traditional food for the festival, such as dumplings and Chinese rice cake.
