Strategies for Parents of Gifted and Creative Children

Curious about giftedness and creativity? In this informative presentation, Dr. Kate Guthrie will share an overview of giftedness and creativity, including common characteristics and ways parents can support creativity at home, in addition to helpful strategies for advocating for your gifted child in schools. Parents of gifted children and adolescents are invited to attend. Handouts will be provided, and time will be reserved for parents to ask questions.

Kate H. Guthrie is a Ph.D. Candidate in Gifted and Creative Education at the University of Georgia and has spent five years as a middle and high school math teacher. She currently works for the Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development at UGA, and when she is not working, she is teaching therapeutic yoga in her community.
