Books & Babies for Pre-walkers

Develop baby's pre-literacy skills as well as physical, social, and mental development. This storytime introduces a love for books, song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. Improve motor, sensory and social skills during free play time, which also provides an opportunity for both babies and parents to socialize. Books & Babies is also about parents as you bond and learn with baby as well as meet other parents in the community. This program is for babies up to 18 months old, with a parent or caregiver, and lasts 20-30 minutes. No registration required.

Toddler Tales Storytime

These 30 minute programs introduce age-appropriate books and stories. We also incorporate action rhymes, songs, and movement to help support your toddler’s developing literacy in fun and exciting ways. This program is suggested for toddlers, ages 18-36 months, with a caregiver. No registration required.

Preschool Pals Storytime

These 30 minute programs are designed to promote language, listening, and pre-reading skills by offering vocabulary development, experiences with a variety of literature, and participation in language-related activities. Hear stories, sing songs, and develop the skills needed to become a successful reader. This program is suggested for children, ages 3-5, with a caregiver. No registration required.

Youth Leadership Workshop With the Toastmasters

The ToastMasters organization is offering an eight week workshop for middle and high school students on leadership and public speaking. Participants will practice speaking and listening skills in a positive environment and receive coaching from experienced speakers. By the end of the eight week workshop, teens will be able to speak to groups or individuals with confidence and poise. The workshop will meet each Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 for eight weeks, January 9 to February 27, 2019. Please register for the January 9 event in order to reserve your place for the full eight week program.

Genealogy with Jessie Whitaker: Intermediate Level

4-week series meets Wednesdays
January 23, 30, February 6 and 13
6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Jessie Whitaker will expand on the basic genealogy skills from her previous classes using Family Search. This is a four-week series that builds on previous knowledge. Attendance at the previous class is not a prerequisite.
