Film photography, otherwise known as analog photography, has been around for over a century. Though its popularity fluctuated after the invention of digital cameras, film photography has increased in demand in recent years amongst hobbyists and professionals alike, as evident with its rise on social media platforms. Unlike digital photography, the results with film are not immediate and each picture requires more thought and care, which makes film a fun and challenging art form. However, making the transition from digital to film photography can seem intimidating! We will review the history of film, different types of film and film cameras, the developing process, and associated costs.
