During the mid 20th century, the Dixie Mafia reigned terror on rural communities throughout the Southeast. Billy Sunday Birt, the Mafia's hitman, is thought to have killed about fifty-six people in the early 1970s. Before he died, Birt claimed to have killed even more. Learn all about the Dixie Mafia from Bob Ingram, the GBI agent who led the case and captured Birt.
