Forsyth 1912: Working to Heal

Celebrating Black Heritage

In 1912, the majority of Black residents were expelled from Forsyth County through fear and intimidation. Today, there are ongoing efforts by current residents to heal the wounds from this painful history. A panel of community leaders and experts will discuss the historical events in Forsyth County in 1912 and the progress made to acknowledge and heal those injustices.

The panel will include:

• Sophia Dodd, Atlanta History Center
• Renada Cincere, Community Remembrance Project of Forsyth County
• Durwood Snead, Forsyth Descendants Scholarship organization
• Information presented about Leadership Forsyth Class of 2022 and their Tolbert Street Cemetery Restoration project
